Working with KJM Video

Setting Goals

We decide who the video

is for, what the main messages are, what the look and feel is, the shooting locations, length of the video and the deadline.

I shoot some footage and start editing. We collaborate as I create some options for you. We decide what what's working and what's not, and home in on the best option.

You are inspired to make a video. You have something to say / you want people to  know what amazing work you do - or what your band sounds like. You can have a fully baked idea about the video or only the first inspiration. Together, we'll massage the ideas into a project.

We share the final draft with a few of your peers to verify that we got it right, then release it to the world!

About Kath

I will bring a thoughtful, artistic and professional work ethic to our project.

Tutorials, documentaries, music,  education, or marketing — the themes may be different but the approach is the same. Find the compelling story, make it look good, edit out what's not necessary, make sure you want to watch it again and again.

I have a background in Museum Exhibition Design and Green Building projects. From my arts background I understand the process of collaboration, critique, and

revision revision revision. From my green building background I understand the purpose of less in more.

Katherine filmed and produced a video documenting a collaboration between two volunteer groups in the Fall of 2018 replanting and maintaining Pulaski Park in Northampton, MA. The resulting video covered the process beautifully, showing all the different facets involved in making the project work while compiling it all succinctly and smoothly.

Owen Wormser / Principal / Local Harmony

Kath is a pleasure to work with. She is responsive, open to feedback, and works very quickly. She also has a knack for making folks feel comfortable while being filmed.

W. MA Pollinator Networks worked with Katherine on a full day symposium with professionals discussing Sustainable Land Care Practices. I know Katherine did extensive editing, resulting in the videos being super professional. It was her idea to create a template for all videos' introductions, resulting in something we are proud to post to our wider network. Easy to communicate with, Katherine way exceeded my expectations for professionalism!

Peggy McCloud / Western MA Pollinator Networks

Katherine is a gracious interviewer and a great videographer!

She made a wonderful video for Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity interviewing some of our volunteers in a house under construction. What stood out the most about the video was her post-production editing to add captions and a map of the house showing where the interviewees were. She is smart and likable -

a good combination for understanding her subject matter and getting good video coverage.

Megan McDonough / Director / Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity

Kath does excellent work. She is incredibly punctual, professional, thorough, and a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend!
